Veli, il marrone. Veils, brown.

Premessa piu' che doverosa: non mi sono dimenticata di questa rubrica...e' che nelle ultime settimane il martedi' e' coinciso con alcuni eventi che mi hanno proprio impedito di scrivere...(lo so, avrei anche potuto pubblicare altri giorni... Eh, no! Il perche' e' una storia troppo lunga da raccontare, che pero' si riassume in due parole: ero incasinatissima)

Comunque...

I must say one thing before starting: I have not forgotten this section...the fact is that in the last weeks all happened on Mondays and I could not write... (yes, I know, I could write on all the other days of the week... But it is a long story and I can sum-up the reason why I didn't do it wirh just a few words: I was really really busy)

Anyway...

Il marrone e' un colore difficile, soprattutto nei toni piu' caldi (quando contiene troppo giallo, insomma).

Associato a colori freddi, viene smorzato questo calore.

Per il giorno lo abbinerei al rosa e al tortora, magari scegliendo capi molto femminili (come la camicia con le ruches). Il velo rimane scuro - meglio se testa di moro.

Brown is a difficult color, above all in its warmer shades (when it contains too much yellow).

To tone this warmth down, it must be combined with cold colors.

During the day, I would wear it with pink and dove-color, maybe choosing very feminine garments (as the ruches blouse). Veil is dark, better in a very dark brown.

Oppure puo' essere scelto nei toni del lilla, come in questo set che ho pensato per la sera. In questo caso, il marrone si sposa bene con il viola chiarissimo e con l' oro.

Or maybe, it can be worn in lilac shades, as in the following outfit I have created for the evening. In this case, brown matches well with very light purple and gold.

Ancora sera. Questa volta con il nero (ormai chi mi legge sa che io amo particolarmente questo abbinamento cosi' "francese e delicato): scarpe di vernice per dare un tocco di eleganza in piu' e grandi accessori in oro giallo.

Evening again. this time with black (people who read my posts know that I do love this combination so delicate and "French): the patent shoes and the big golden accessories add more elegance.

Veli, il GRIGIO - Veils, GREY

Mi piacerebbe che questa rubrica diventasse uno scambio di idee e di impressioni. Sulla moda, su cio' che certi capi sono, su cio' che simboleggiano.

Mentre aspetto che le voci si alzino, provo a capire - creando look. E suggerisco come unire gusto e cultura.

I'd like this blog section to be a place where ideas and sensations could be compared. Impression on fashion, on the meaning of some garments, on what they symbolize.

In the mean time, I try to understand - by creating some new outfits. And I suggest how to combine taste and culture.

Il grigio, di giorno: a me piace abbinato ad accessori marroni, piu' che neri. E preferisco anche il velo in questi toni.

Grey, by day: I prefer grey combined with brown accessories, not black. And I prefer the veil to be in these shades, too.

Sera, ancora. Con una gonna lunga in un luminoso velluto, da accostare a maglie e tessuti semplici. Evening, again. A long bright velvet skirt, to be combined with plain sweaters and fabrics.

"Veli", una nuova rubrica. "Veils", a new blog section.

Qualche settimana fa ho ricevuto l' email di una ragazza italiana, di religione musulmana, che mi chiedeva consigli sull' abbinamento del velo con i suoi vestiti in stile occidentale.

Ci ho pensato, le ho chiesto precisazioni, mi ha mandato foto, link. Finalmente ho capito cosa desidera: lei non vuole vestirsi all' orientale - perche' non e' orientale. Vuole trovare il modo di coniugare il velo - che, in effetti, e' un accessorio importante, evidente - con gli abiti che porta. Tutti i giorni o nelle occasioni speciali.

A few weeks ago I got an e-mail by an Italian Muslim girl, asking for some suggestions on how to combine the veil with her western-style clothes.

I thought about this a lot, I asked her many details, she sent me pictures and links. Finally, I got it: she doesn't want to dress like an Oriental girl - because she is not an Oriental girl. She just wants to find the right way to make her veil ( which is an evident, important accessory ) match with the clothes she wears. Daily or on special events.

E cosi' e' nata questa rubrica, in cui saranno proposti abiti coprenti, di una certa lunghezza e di un certo stile, per andare incontro alle esigenze di chi desidera mostrare solo viso, mani e piedi.
Io credo nella multi-culturalita', credo che siamo donne a prescindere dal nostro modo di esserlo. Credo anche che lo stile non debba guardare in faccia nessuno, che sia giusto volersi bene e sentirsi in armonia con i vestiti che si portano, che siano larghi o stretti, lunghi o corti, accompagnati da un velo o da un cappello a falda larga.

So, this section was created. Here I will show only covering, longer clothes, in order to meet the needs of the women who want to show their face, their hands, their foot only.

I believe in multi-cultural societies, I believe that we are all women, independently of our way to be women. I also believe that style must belong to everybody and that it is fair to appreciate ourselves and to feel good in the clothes we wear - whether they are large or tight, long or short, coupled with a veil or with a big hat.

E cosi', ecco come vedo io il velo abbinato al nero. Versione giorno e sera.

Well, this is how I see the veil combined with black color clothes. By day and by night.

Il nero, di giorno. Top nero su pantaloni neri (le regole sono sempre le stesse, eh?), con accessori in cuoio. Velo semplicissimo nero o marrone scuro:

Black, by day. Black with black ( rules don't change ... ), with brown leather accessories. A very plain black or dark brown veil:

Il nero, per la sera. Sempre in pantaloni, ma con un po' di brillantini, un giubbotto semplice e un po' informale. Il velo e' nero.

Black by night. Trousers, some glitters and a casual jacket. Veil is black.

Il nero per una serata elegante. Una gonna lunga, a pieghe, una maglia da portare con una cintura, ballerine di vernice e pochette. Il velo - nero - ha degli inserti da sera.

Black for a stylish evening. A long pleated skirt, a long sweater to be worn with a belt, patent flat shoes and clutch bag. The veil - in black color - has got evening details.

Mi piacerebbe sapere cosa pensate di questa rubrica. Pero' non vale: le mie amiche turche sono in vacanza in questi giorni (Ma vi aspetto, eh?)
